The grave of Mary M. (Reed) Bayless, wife of Reese Barton Bayless, CSA Co. K, 43rd TN Vols. Both died during the war and left behind their orphan children William, Eliza and Betty. Mary is buried at Salem Church, north of Ringold, GA. Bart is buried in VA.

Reese Barton Bayless (1823-1863), Co. K, 43 TN Vols. Uncle Bart lived in North GA near Ringold. His brother A. R. Dick Bayless also volunteered but for a GA Regiment. Bart died in a hospital in VA of wounds received in the war.
