    • 3rd Marine Division (3rd MarDiv). Photographer: Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Steve Moody. GROUP REENLISTMENT ON JULY $--Twenty-three Marines were sworn in by Major General William K. Jones, commanding general of the 3rd Marine Division in a group reenlistment ceremony at the Dong Ha Combat Base, July 4. After administering the oath, the general remarked, “It is encouraging to see a fine group of men continue to serve their country, especially during a period such as now when we are involved in a conflict...

These captioned, black & white photographs include scenes from combat and evacuation operations; and personalities such as President Ngo Dinh Diem, US presidents Johnson and Nixon, and personalities such as Walter Cronkite, Martha Raye, and Bob Hope. There are views of interactions between Marine Corps personnel and Vietnamese civilians. Also in this series are photos of Operation Homecoming, the return of American Marine prisoners of war to the United States.
