- 3rd Marine Division (3rd MarDiv). Photographer: Private First Class (Pfc) Waldo Nilo. MORTAR CREW -- A Marine "Sea Stallion" helicopter bringing supplies, sets the background for a Leatherneck mortar crew at Fire Support Base Alphine. Artillery support bases scattered throughout Quang Tri Province provide support for 3rd Marine Division infantrymen operating in the northernmost sector of South Vietnam.

There are views of interactions between Marine Corps personnel and Vietnamese civilians. Also in this series are photos of Operation Homecoming, the return of American Marine prisoners of war to the United States.
