Press clippings collected from 1942 to 1960 by the Public Information Department of the 13th Naval District, headquartered at Seattle. They offer contemporary accounts and photographs of Pacific Fleet sailors engaged in wars; national defense; as well as daily life, and sometimes trouble, in the Puget Sound region. Helen Keller's "In Behalf of the IWW"

Helen Keller was an eloquent spokeswoman for a variety of social issues for a large part of the 20th century. She was investigated by the FBI and its precursor, the Bureau of Investigation, for her socialist beliefs.
