Dr. Henry Eyring, a distinguished 20th century chemist, speaks plainly but powerfully on "Science and Faith", "Religion in a Changing World", "Obedience Is the Price of Freedom", "Why Be a Latter-day Saint" and "Obedience is the Price of Freedom." He also explains the workings of the physical world and describes the faith of fellow scientists, including Newton and Einstein.

Annotation added: ..Spirit as a more refined kind of matter..-If spirit is breath-pure air or some other invisible form of matter and energy this makes sense. We cannot see air we only see our breath in the winter because of the mostiure in our lungs. If it is another kind in any less visable form we likewise require aid"Purer Eyes"to see. Knowing that we need help to see parts of the spectrum it is reasonable that spirit is without our natural range and "Natural Eyes"need help to see purer spirit. Moses saw Satan's spirit.-

Annotation added: The Scriptural description of spirit(Breath?) as a more refined kind of matter-Is made of More refined parts-(D&C 131:7 There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes; )takes on new perspective in the light of this larger concept of the interchangeability of matter and energy. Matter, in the broader sense, can still be spoken of as indestructible, providing we realize that energy is just another form of matter.

Annotation added: For me there has been no serious difficulty in reconciling (Latin Re Con Silio "To Sit again with") the principles true science (Knowledge gaind by taking things apart. Greek. skhizein "to split, rend, cleave,") with true religion (Knowledge gained through putting things togeather. Latin religare "to bind fast" or "to bond" chemical?), for both are concerned with the eternal varieties of the universe (Elements and Matter and Eternal Progression). -Two halves of the same coin ,they are just one magnet.-WS
