Bevet General Meriweather LEWIS, can be found at www.familysearch. org 1880 fed census "free he was born in VA-either 1823 or 1826, his wife Julia Ann SAUNDERS, was also, b. in VA- I think he died abt 1890-I don't have all his info in front of me now, they had a couple children.-NO DIRECT DECENDANTS-LIVING.

Lt., Col., later bevet general CONFEDERACY, Meriweather LEWIS, can be found "free" on the 1880 fed census taken in VA-under just the initial M. LEWIS VA- I think he was born abt 1823 -and KNOW he was born in VA, so was his wife Julia Ann SAUNDERS.
