The three American soldiers (dressed in British and Hessian uniforms) who captured Maj. John Andre on 23 Sep 1780 after he had left Benedict Arnold, were from the Westchester, NY, Militia. They were John Paulding, Isaac Van Wart or Vert and David Williams. You see them noted in the document to the right. You can see many other documents by searching for the men by name, and can narrow your search by limiting it to the Revolutionary War time period (David Williams is a common name).
