James Martin LOVINGS (LOVINS) was the oldest son of William LOVINGS and Prudence JONES. He enlisted 02 May 1862 in Company E, 45th Infantry Regiment, NC. He was killed in action 30 May 1864 in Mechanicsville, VA.

Andrew Marion LOVINGS (LOVINS) was the son of William LOVINGS and Prudence JONES. He enlisted 27 Feb 1862 in Company E, 45th Infantry Regiment, NC; he received a disability discharge 14 Jul 1862 from same company.

William W. LOVINGS (LOVINS, LEVINS) is the youngest son to William LOVINGS and Prudence JONES who enlisted in Company E, 45th Infantry Regiment, NC. The youngest son, John Franklin LOVINGS, was too young to enlist. William enlisted 07 Mar 1862 and was taken prisoner on at least one occassion; he was paroled in 1865.
