Sgt. Stanley W. Leer was a crewman on a B-17 Flying Fortress that was shot down on February 10, 1944 on a bombing mission to Brunswick, Germany.  He was a German POW for the rest of the war.  He flew with the 711th Squadron of the 447th Bomb Group based in Rattlesden, England.  Aircraft serial number 42-31096, Missing Air Crew Report number 2534.
