Effie Mcalvain

I spent alot of weedends at Granny Macs and Granny and Papaw Hill's houses ( Ona is dau to Effie Mae McAlvain).   On saturdays we would usually go up town to Andy's Grocery and shop. Then cross the street to the " 5 & Dime" or maybe go to Otasco.  Before long I had a cousin, Sarah, who then gotta start comin with me as she got older.....On Saturday nights me and papaw, Finis Preston Hill, would watch wrestling on channel 6 out of Tulsa, Oklahoma....Sunday mornings we were up and off to church.  They attended Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church out west of Oologah.  Granny Hill was the songleader for 40 yrs....she and papaw sang in a quartet....i usually sang in the choir, but if not i sat with my granny Mac and she'd always have me some "juicy fruit gum"........this is story #1 with more to come.....
