Papers of the Continental Congress: Thomas Jefferson

In a letter written to the Continental Congress on 16 August 1785 from Paris, Thomas Jefferson covers a range of subjects of interest which includes Benjamin Franklin, the captured brigantine Betsey, William Carmichael, William Short, Baron Thulemeier, treaties with Spain, Charles Dumas, Algiers, and the Hague, Netherlands. He concludes with, "Your most obedient & most humble servant" and signs (in his own handwriting) Th. Jefferson.
