WW II  86th Fighter Group, Lt Bruce W Fulton was on a Combat Mission in his Fighter, with the 527th Fighter Squadron.  Lt Fulton flew through an explosion of ammunition that Lt Fulton shot at,  that caused his plane to catch fire, he was forced to bailed out of his ship,

Bruce Wrigley Fulton, 90, of Wilmore, died Thursday 19 March, 2009 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, Wilmore.
He was a retired salesman from Georgia Pacific Lumber, an Army veteran
and a member of Erlanger United Methodist Church and Erlanger Lions Club.

His wife, Sylvia I. Morgan Fulton, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Morgan Fulton of Indianapolis; a daughter,
Donna Gail Perkins of Richmond; a sister, Anna Lois Faulkner of Cincinnati;
three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
