Our Marriage

| Kansas City, MO

Jim and I were married August 12, 1972

Birth of Missi Jean McGlasson

| Independence Medical Center, Indep., MO

Jim's only child, Melissa Jean McGlasson, was born July 3, 1974. She has always been the center of Jim's Universe, a true "Daddy's little girl" he loved her very much and spoiled her rotten!

Jim wrote and recorded a song about Missi "Say Daddy to me" He wrote the song before she was born and recorded it the first time in 1978 and then again in 2005.

He wrote another song about her "It's peanut butter and jelly time" but did not record that one..

"Say Daddy to me" was played at Jim's funeral..

A Story about JIM

Jackie ShieldsI can't figure out how to work it, but I remember that ornery look on Jim's face when he would call you up to sing. You could just see the love there he had for you. He always had an ornery look, like he was up to something. LOL

Talking with Pa on the phone..

I remember how Pa ALWAYS answered the phone "NW" when I called. NW in Pa language means 'no way'

Good by for now Pa, I love you

MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY ~ I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU..2009

25 Dec 2009

This is something that will stick with me the rest of my life and I have been blessed many times over because of this. One day I was visiting Missi and my dad decided to stop by and tell one of his never ending stories, (which I had heard many times and many versions) anyways, after words dad went home and I told Missi, "I am so sorry for dad coming by and staying so long" She looked at me and said "never apologize for your dad being your dad" She told me she was always happy to see him. She also added "I have never apologized to anyone over my dad ,and if some one didn't like what he said then too bad because he's my dad" I am so glad to have that instilled in me and it says just how much Jim was Loved and Respected. Thank you Jim for making such a wonderful impact on so many that is still touching others today.

Jim was my husband and the love of my life for 36 years. I lost him to small cell lung cancer Jan. 25, 2009. I miss him every minute of every day but I am consoled in the fact that he is in Heaven, pain free and doing the think he loved the most....playing music. Two hours before Jim died he was singing "Waltz across Texas" I and the family was with him constantle and was is awe to watch his journey from a hospital bed in our living room to HEAVEN. I will always love you Jim...
