Brief mention in a May 1919 report that the first contingent of volunteers has left Newcastle for Archangel. Total of 1500 soldiers including one maching gun cpmpany. Two more contingents will leave in the current week for Russia.

On 27 Sept 1918, the President of the US denied a request from British Gen. Poole to send five additional battalions of US Army troops to North Russia.

July 1, 1918 letter (page 1 of 2) from Raymond Robins to the US Secretary of State. Robins was a member of the American Red Cross Mission to Russia, during which he witnessed the Russian Revolution and met Lenin and other Bolshevik leaders. In this letter he makes recommendations concerning the "Russian Situation" and the possibility of US military intervention in Russia.
