What Val_G is doing on Footnote…

    However it's done, I am glad that footnote has them... I don't mind paying the membership fees.... One set of military records and or pension records (out of the "many" that I need/want)... and that is same as the 'one' membership fee that supplies me with 'hundreds' of various types of documents.... True, I could go to my 'local' library or a nearby family history center & 'look' for 'free'... ...more

    Charles G Tipton, residence, Marianna FL.... my 3rd gr-grandfather.... He was married to Ary Pinknia Tipton.... his capture and ultimate death, left her with several children... Ary never remarried... She drew his pension, listed as 'blind'. After 1870 she and the children moved up to Rose Hill, Covington Co., AL.

    This is John James Baker, brother-n-law of Francis M Gilmore/F. M. Gilmore "Frank", also of the 45th co D. Both resided Society Hill, Macon, AL. John Baker was born in Sumter, SC, son of Benjamin Baker & Tabitha Vause, also of Sumter, SC., they also resided in Society Hill. Also W.W. Gilmore of the 45 Co D was Francis Gilmore's brother, William Wiley. All three together... Francis Gilmore ...more
