In 2000, i've found all surviving members of "Sweet Patootie" (B-17 42-31569 crash in my village in 1944, Damerey, France). I gave their adress and so they called each other (56 years later...)strong souvenirs! Daniel BON (i was born in 1963)

Annotation added: Duchess Daughter, 42-97272 (303rd BG 359th BS) BN-T , on 06 July 1944 , mission #197 to Beaumetz-Les-Aire (France), piloted by 2Lt P.H. Brabant, made a normal landing. Copilot 2Lt I.J. Judy accidently put the landing gear switch in the up position. The gear collapsed near the end of the landing roll. (source 303rdbg website)

Annotation added: 42-102453 "Princess Pat" (303rd BG 358th BS VK-J) on 25 July 1944 , 2Lt Oliver B. Larson (Pilot) was preparing to land, he came in too high and failed to go around for a better landing approach, the plane's wheels hit in the soft ground at the runways end and nosed over, no injuries but the badly damaged B-17 flew no more combat missions and was salvaged to the "Boneyard".
