DeWittt H. TEEPLE Union soldier, became first Lt., DC Police Dept., 9th Dis

DeWitt H. TEEPLE, father of Pearl Evelyn or Evelyn Pearl TEEPLE, married to William HANDIBOE b. DC, dec'd DC, was not only a UNION soldier, but became the first Lt., of a DC Police District & retired from the police dept., he died in Washington DC.

DeWitt died in Washington DC, very early 1900's-I do have a Washington Post article relating to his service on the police dept., and his death.

This is a GGreatGrandfth of William Roy HANDIBOE, b. DC, His Grandfather married a TEEPLE, daughter. William HANDIBOE ck-out- 1930 fed census taken in DC.
