World War 2 rise in food prices in rural Pennsylvania
It appears that food prices increased between 50 and 100% during the 3-1/2 year span from Jan 1942 to Aug 1945. Some examples (1942 price - 1945 price): Eggs ($0.30 - $0.46), Wheat ($1.08 - $1.50), Buckwheat ($1.10 - $2.25). See connected image.
