Thomas Jefferson's opinion of one power hungry French Duke - 1789

In 1789, Thomas Jefferson was a witness to the governmental changes in Paris. One faction wanted the Duke d' Orleans to be made king and Thomas Jefferson described him as "unprincipled as his followers, sunk in debaucheries of the lowest kind".
